Last week was a big week for me.

I walked the stage during the MFA Graduation Ceremony for the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and opened a graduate thesis show with three of my dearest friends and colleagues. That was a homecoming for me.

I started my MFA program five years ago in San Francisco in the very building that now holds my work. At the time, I had little formal training in the medium I knew I loved, and couldn't imagine the labor that lay before me.

All I knew was that I loved images. And the time had come to create the life I had always dreamed of living. Looking back with the distance of time and experience, I can say: it was the gutsiest decision I ever made. And it turned out (by far) to be the best one.

I feel truly blessed.

Show runs until June 2.
